It would be easier to navigate collections if subfolders wouldn't be completely separated from the folder contents, show them before the first items from the folder so you can easily navigate to them.
(nb: This is different from the recursive collections option which includes all subfolders contents)6 votes
Good idea. This will be included as an option in ZotPad 2.0
Love ZotPad, but frustrating to not be able to add content easily. Bookmarklet has not been working for me. Just installed the Mercury browser and so far quite happy. It has an option to open a page in another program. ZotPad was offered as a choice, and opened, but ZotPad then refused it as unrecognised. Not a developer, but seems like it might be relatively easy to get ZotPad to ask if you want to create a new item at that stage...4 votes
This is a good idea and should be implemented at some point. It is unclear if this will make it to the upcoming 2.0 release, though.
ZotPad should register itself as handler for Zotero:// URLs. Below are some examples of what this should do
- Opens the document viewer with PDF from attachment with key "S666ME48" in "My Library" showing the page 17.
- Opens the item with [identifier] from My Library into item detail view10 votes
Planned for ZotPad 2.0
In your discussion of syncing (http://www.zotpad.com/node/20) you note that SugarSync has plans to create an ipad library that will make supporting SugarSync possible in ZotPad. SugarSync has a new ipad app out, and seems to have done many recent updates. Any chance it is now possible to provide ZotPad support for SugarSync?3 votes
ZotPad 2.0 will included changes in cloud synchronisation and will support Box.com and possibly sugarsync. This is planned at some point in any case.
ZotPad should retrieve cover art for books based on ISBN instead of displaying a file thumbnail.3 votes
Will probably be included in ZotPad 2.0
Currently sorting is implemented by extracting the year part of the data and then sorting by that. A more appropriate way would be to use the full date.1 vote

Have an option to move or copy a reference to another existing collection. For example, I have a "to read" collection which I reference regularly on my ipad. After I've read the article though, I want to remove it from the "to read" collection and file it in another collection relevant to the topic.5 votes
This is planned and may be included in the 1.3 version.
Suggestions for user interface are welcome. The functionality of adding and removing items from collections has been already implemented to enable the starrign and favorites collection feature.
It would be great that the notes in the zotpad could have the same format possibilities that we have in the zotero.com, as title, bold style, etc. My notes already have that, and when i edit them in the ipad, i cannot use that styles.
This is planned at some point, maybe ZotPad 1.4 or 1.3 if there is sufficient demand for this feature. See the comments for details.
Zotfile already has this feature. If Zotpad could do, it'd beat Zotfile flat because of the automatic tablet-desktop syncing.12 votes
This is actually two different features (see the comments). It will definitely be implemented for built-in annotations and may be implemented for annotations in received files.

Translations are planned. When this happens is not yet decided.
Allow user to send a single citation (without an attachment) via email item function or better yet allow for several citations to be mailed as a bibliography (via tick boxes?)11 votes
The plan is to implement a general mechanism for choosing items from the list and then performing some actions on them. (Such as emailing a bibliography.) This may be included in the 1.3 version.
Please make it possible to upload to Zotpad (via iAnnotate) an annotated copy of a .pdf originally downloaded from ZotPad in such a way that the Zotero storage will then have BOTH the original file and the annotated one. I ask because I use Zotero now to keep "clean" copies of .pdfs that I might want to use for student course packs, posting on university web-learning sites, etc. Up to this point, I've been using Dropbox to keep annotated copies of .pdfs (I add "ANNO" to the title). So I'd like to keep those annotated copies in addition to the clean copies.

This will be included as an option. Probably in ZotPad 1.3
I use search to look for articles that do not have the search terms as a phrase in the title. Also want to be able to search for an author and subject. e.g. Jones internet. This really helps to refine my search.
In Zotpad if I type in two words like this I get no items. Sometimes it just goes into a continuous search loop and I have to crash it.10 votes
The search functionality will definitely be improved in the future. This will probably not be included in the 1.2 release, but may be possible in the 1.3 release.
ZotPad should be able to create new items. This should be done either by manually entering the item details or scanning barcodes on books. (Like BibUp http://elearning.unifr.ch/bibup/tuto/index.php)
Note that you can already import items in Safari using the Zotero Bookmarklet http://zotpad.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/109827-can-i-import-articles-from-the-web-with-zotpad-lik93 votes
Instead of rejecting unrecognized files, ZotPad should present the user an option to import the file instead of rejecting it. File import should either allow attaching the file to an existing item, create a new standalone attachment, or create a new item and attach the file.50 votes
The cache should be less aggressive to conserve bandwidth when working on a cellular connection.5 votes
Will be implemented in 1.3 version
When uploading I sometimes get the "version conflict" dialogue. It would be helpful to see metadata of the files like date/time of change or even get a preview in order to help me decide which version I want to use.6 votes
Will be implemented in 1.3 version
